Over $2.15 million was siphoned off from the Mobius Token ($MBU) smart contracts on the BNB Chain by hackers, as identified by security company Cyvers Alerts on early May 11 during a focused attack.
The assailant activated the contract from address 0xb32a53… at 07:31:38 UTC and commenced the attack at 07:33:56 UTC, emptying assets from the target wallet 0xb5252f…
Cyvers told Cointelegraph that the hacker utilized contract 0x631adf… for carrying out several harmful transactions. This smart contract siphoned off 28.5 million MBU tokens and then converted them.

, leading to a net loss of $2,152,219.99 for the victim.
Altogether, the hacker stole 28.5 million MBU tokens and exchanged them for approximately $2.15 million in USDT.
Cyvers categorized the vulnerability as “critical” and highlighted the suspect contract code employed by the attacker along with unusual transaction activity.
As of publishing time, the hacker’s wallet is still operational and continues to hold the pilfered assets. The Mobius Token team has not issued any formal announcement regarding this incident.
“Approximately two minutes before the attack, our system detected the deployment of a malicious smart contract that ultimately aimed at targeting the Mobius Token smart contracts,” Cyvers stated on X.
